ALH5213 - Long Term Adult Health Care Administrator 13 hour(s) Elective Type: Elective The long-term care administrator in training program is a practicum-based curriculum of study that is individualized to the needs of each individual student. This competency and practicum based educational program in long term care is a program of instruction that meets the standards established by the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS). Students must report to an actual long-term care facility for a minimum of 480 hours of training under the guidance of a preceptor who is a licensed long-term care administrator. Students must complete a number of duties during the practicum under the guidance of the preceptor. At the conclusion of the practicum, students will write a detailed summary paper of the experience. During the program, students must take a (3) credit hour courses. The required class is: ALH1676 - Health Care Finance . Successful students will have the opportunity to seek licensure as a long-term care administrator. Prerequisite(s): A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university. At the start of the course, each student will be required to have a background check completed.
