Instruction consists of 375 clock hours in professional development and effective communications, human relations, microbiology, infection control procedures, and guidelines as well as first aid procedures for the industry. Sanitary rules and regulations governing the cosmetology profession are taught. Students will also perform services in client consultation using design decisions considerations, selecting the correct hairstyle to fit the client using design principles and elements, scalp and hair analysis, shampooing, conditioning, scalp treatments, and hair cutting by length arrangements and design principles. Long hair design techniques will also be included in the class.
Prerequisite(s): An applicant must have attained the age of 16 years and completed the Cosmetology entrance application.
