EDU6270 - Children and Adolescent Literature (T►) 3 hour(s) Elective Type: Elective (T►) Kansas Regents System Wide Transfer Course: [KRSN EDU2010] Schedule Note: Spring only as F2F; Online in Summer Description: This course will increase knowledge of the importance of quality literature to the overall development of children and adolescents. Students will examine components of quality literature while reviewing various genres and styles of literature appropriate for reading development. An in-depth study of the various influences on literature such as historical evolution and trends, cultural responsiveness, areas of development of the child/adolescent, and societal changes will offer the student an understanding of our responses to literature. Students will design content specific lessons to meet state curricular standards while addressing the various learning needs of today’s students.
