COS5110 - Nail Technology 10 hour(s) Elective Type: Technical Elective Description: Instruction consists of 350 clock hours in the history of nails, the structure of both the skin & nails, anatomy, physiology, chemistry, & electricity as it pertains to the nail industry. The students will gain knowledge in infection control procedures, first aid procedures, sanitation & disinfection procedures that are governed by the State board. Students will be trained in manicuring, pedicuring, electric filing, nail tips & wraps, acrylic nails, UV & LED gels, & nail art. The students will also gain an understanding of the salon business, how to seek employment in the nail industry, & job training. The course will prepare the stuents for the State board exams.
Prerequisite(s): An applicant must be 18 years of age, have a college level reading score, and pass the Nail Technology entrance application.
