KANSAS PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBLE PROGRAM

The Software, Security, and Development program combines computer development, security, and basic hardware and programming knowledge into a two-year degree. Focus is on current industry trends in information technology. Core information technology classes present a solid foundation upon which the individual can enter the workforce and continue to expand by pursuing industry certifications in Comptia, Oracle, and Microsoft. Upon completion of the AAS degree in Software, Security and Development, students should be prepared for an entry-level position in the workforce.

NOTE: Vocational Certificate Options: As students work to complete the AAS in Software, Security and Development they can also complete a Technical Certificate A (27 credits) by choosing classes that fit their interest area. In addition, students can build upon their Technical Certificate A coursework to also complete a Technical Certificate B after completing 42 credits in appropriate coursework.

NOTE: It is recommended that students complete CIS1868 - Java Programming and CIS1902 Introduction to SQL regardless if it is listed as a course in the CERT A for their area of emphasis.
