KANSAS PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBLE PROGRAM
Machining & Manufacturing Technology Cert A provides entry level skills in blueprint reading, safety, shop theory, setup and operation of conventional machine tools including lathes, mills, drill presses, and surface grinders, basic operations and setup of CNC machines as identified as necessary by machine tool employers and serves as the foundation for the Associate of Applied Science degree.
The Cowley College Machining and Manufacturing Technology program is in alignment with the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) CIP code 48.0501: Machine Tool Technology/Machinist. A program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to plan, manufacture, assemble, test, and repair parts, mechanisms, machines, and structures in which materials are cast, formed, shaped, molded, heat treated, cut, twisted, pressed, fused, stamped or worked.
NOTE: Students are expected to demonstrate understanding and mastery of skills needed for career readiness as they progress through program coursework. A minimum grade of “C” is required on all technical coursework for successful completion of the technical certificate or degree.
