KANSAS PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBLE PROGRAM
The Construction Technology Program is designed to provide detailed instruction to students in building trades on both the commercial and residential construction. The student will be introduced to skills and knowledge in safety protocols, handling and care of the tools of the trade, and the basics of electricity, plumbing, HVAC, site layout, concrete, masonry and equipment used in the industry. Students can complete Technical Certificates and NCCER industry recognized credentials along the pathway to earning an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree.
The Cowley College Construction Technology program is in alignment with the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) CIP code 46.0201: Carpentry/Carpenter. A program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to lay out, cut, fabricate, erect, install, and repair wooden structures and fixtures, using hand and power tools. Includes instruction in technical mathematics, framing, construction materials and selection, job estimating, blueprint reading, foundations and roughing-in, finish carpentry techniques, and applicable codes and standards.
