The Software, Security, and Development program combines computer development, security, and basic hardware knowledge into a two-year degree. Focus is on current industry trends in information technology. Core information technology classes present a solid foundation upon which the individual can enter the workforce and continue to expand by pursuing industry certifications in Comptia, Oracle, Microsoft, and ESRI. Upon completion of the AAS degree in Software, Security and Development, students should be prepared for an entry-level position in the workforce.
NOTE: Vocational Certificate Options: As students work to complete the AAS in Software, Security and Development they can also choose an area of emphasis and complete a Vocational Certificate A (18 credits) in one of three areas: 1) Information Security 2) App Development or 3) Game Development.
In addition, students can build upon their Vocational Certificate A coursework to also complete a Vocational Certificate B in either: 1) Information Technology Foundations (39 hours) or 2) App Development - Databases and Applications (42 hours)
