KANSAS PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBLE PROGRAM
If you are interested in helping others, are a hard worker and enjoy encouraging that “satisfied” smile from someone in need, then working as a CNA (certified nursing assistant) may be for you. The CNA has the privilege of meeting the basic needs of our citizens who need it most.
This satisfying profession can be a prerequisite for the nursing program, or a stand-alone opportunity. Classes are taught in the Winfield Allied Health Education Center, Mulvane Center, and on the main campus in Arkansas City. In addition to the CNA course, we offer other courses for the currently working CNA:
- The Home Health Aide class instructs the CNA how to help elderly, convalescent, or disabled persons live in their own homes instead of in a health care facility.
- The Restorative Aide class trains the CNA to assist therapy departments in long-term care facilities, acute care facilities, and to carry out rehabilitative plans of care in the client’s home.
- The Certified Medication Aide class allows the CNA to pass medications and treatments to long-term care residents.

Courses Offered:
CNA and CMA recertification classes are also available.
A host of other health care and allied health courses is also offered at Cowley College. Additional information can be found in this catalog or online at the Cowley College Web site.
