Software, Security and Development Degree Pathway (AAS)

Location(s): ONLINE, SUMNER/WELLINGTON


 KANSAS PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBLE PROGRAM   


The Software, Security, and Development program combines computer development, security, and basic hardware and programming knowledge into a two-year degree. Focus is on current industry trends in information technology. Core information technology classes present a solid foundation upon which the individual can enter the workforce and continue to expand by pursuing industry certifications in Comptia, Oracle, and Microsoft. Upon completion of the AAS degree in Software, Security and Development, students should be prepared for an entry-level position in the workforce. 

NOTE: Vocational Certificate Options:  As students work to complete the AAS in Software, Security and Development they can also complete a Vocational Certificate A (18 credits) by choosing classes that fit their interest area. In addition, students can build upon their Vocational Certificate A coursework to also complete a Vocational Certificate B after completing 39 credits in appropriate coursework.

Complete 44 Technical requirements. Students should work with their advisor to select coursework to fit their individual interest area and plans and allows them to complete Vocational Certificates along the way within this pathway. Java Programming and Introduction to SQL should be completed as part of the Technical requirements.
