EMS5602 - Emergency Medical Technician 2 (EMT 2) ($) 6 hour(s) Elective Type: Technical ($) Special Funding Identifier: KS Excel in CTE Initiative Schedule Note: Spring Only Description: The Emergency Medical Technician 1 (EMT 1) and EMT 2 courses are designed to be taken consecutively to provide students with an academic and working knowledge to become Kansas certified EMTs and to provide basic life support patient care. It provides the basic concepts of emergency care, which are needed to function as an EMT. Students must successfully complete the EMT 1 and EMT 2 courses in consecutive semesters with a grade of “C” or better to be eligible for state board certification. This class will be helpful for other health care fields and is a prerequisite for the Paramedic course.
Course Classification: 2 credit Lecture/4 credit Lab Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of EMS 5601 Emergency Medical Technician 1 (EMT 1) with a “C” or better in the immediate preceding semester.
