Paramedic -Emergency Medical Services (Vocational Certificate C)

The Paramedic Certificate C is designed for students who already possess an associate degree or higher and who wish to complete the Paramedic Program. The Certificate C is comprised of the Paramedic I - IV courses and is 48 credit hours in length.

PLEASE NOTE: To obtain Paramedic certification in Kansas, an individual must possess a minimum of an associate degree.


The Paramedic Program is designed for individuals interested in providing state-of-the-art pre-hospital emergency care to any person who may require assistance. 

The goal of the Paramedic Program is to prepare competent entry-level Paramedics in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains with or without exit points at the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and/or Emergency Medical Technician, and/or Emergency Medical Responder levels.

Additional Credentials and Certifications


Prior to starting the program, a student should have earned the EMT or AEMT Certification or be enrolled in or scheduled to complete the EMS 5605  course.

Throughout the MICT Paramedic program, students earn additional industry-recognized credentials and certifications that are embedded or offered within the program.

These include:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Provider
  • Emergency Vehicle Operations
  • The Difficult Airway Course: EMS
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider
  • Advanced Medical Life Support Provider
  • Emergency Pediatric Care Provider
  • Prehospital Trauma Life Support Provider
