Paraprofessional Educator Pathway (AA)

 KANSAS PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBLE PROGRAM   


This program can prepare you for a career as a paraprofessional educator (teacher’s aide) in regular and special education classes in elementary and secondary schools and in social service agencies. Cowley College program provides you with a strong foundation for a career in education through classroom work and observation in the field. Employment of paraprofessionals is expected to grow.

In addition to the recommended transfer electives, PSY6720 - First Year Experience (FYE) is highly recommended as an elective for students enrolled in this pathway.

Minimum Hours for a Degree 62*


*A minimum of 62 hours is required to earn a Cowley degree; however additional credit hours may be outlined on the transfer pathway to meet the program requirements for a transfer institution. 

Depending on skill level and assessment scores, students may be required to take the necessary basic skill or prerequisite courses prior to enrolling in the program courses.
