KANSAS PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBLE PROGRAM
Diagnostic medical sonographers are professionals that produce and analyze images of the body which can be used by doctors to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions.
This Pre-Diagnostic Medical Sonography transfer pathway is specifically aligned to meet the pre-requisite coursework and requirements for transfer into Newman University’s Bachelor of Science Degree program and parallels the first two years of their course plan of study.

General Education Requirements (15 hours)
Basic Skill Requirements (12 hours)
Computer Literacy (3 hours)
Humanities (6 hours)
Complete 6 credits of Humanities Electives. Select a 3 credit course from the Philosophy/Ethics Option and a 3 credit course from the Fine Arts Elective Option.
Social Sciences (6 hours)
Complete PSY6711 General Psychology and SOC6811 Principles of Sociology to fulfill the 6 credits of Social Science Electives for this pathway.
Science and Math (20 hours)

In addition to the recommended transfer electives, PSY6720 - First Year Experience (FYE) is highly recommended as an elective for students enrolled in this pathway.

Although Cowley College’s Associate of Science degree only requires 62 hours for degree conferral, this pathway requires 68 hours to meet all requirements to transfer into Newman’s program.
