 KANSAS PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBLE PROGRAM     


The Instructional Technology and Design Transfer Pathway is designed for students seeking to become practitioners in the integration of technology in the classroom or corporate workplace. With technology playing an increasingly important role in all aspects of business, students will discover ways to teach others how to effectively implement technology into everyday practices to enhance learning and productivity. Students completing the degree can consider training positions within corporate or educational settings. Students are expected to complete the minimum course work required for the AA degree and are encouraged to consider the course work options in one or more of the recommended concentrations to ensure appropriate transfer into a bachelor degree program of study.

Kansas General Education Core Requirements (35 hours)


Successfully completing 35 hours of approved coursework in the following designated categories will fulfill the requirements of meeting the Kansas Systemwide General Education Core .  

Basic Skills - English, Communications and Math (12 hours)


Complete 6 credits of English, 3 credits of Communications and at least 3 credits of a College-level Math course that’s most appropriate for the degree and transfer pathway.

Natural & Physical Laboratory Sciences (5 hours)


Complete 5 credits of Lab Science from approved Lab Science Elective(s) . (BIO, CHM, GEO, PHS).

Social & Behavioral Sciences (6 hours)


Complete 6 credits from two different disciplines from approved Social Science Elective(s) . (ANT, ECO, GEG, POL, PSY, SOC). 

These are the preferred electives for this pathway:

Arts & Humanities (6 hours)


Complete 6 credits from two different disciplines from approved Humanities Elective(s) . (ART, COM, ENG, FOL, HIS, LIT, MUS, PHO, REL, THE) - Studio and Performance courses cannot be included.

Additional Institution Core Requirements (6 hours)


To satisfy degree requirements to meet the Kansas system-wide general education core, complete 6 additional credits of approved electives applicable to the transfer pathway.

Recommended courses for this pathway: Social Science (Geography) and Additional Humanities Ethics is recommended (work with advisor) 

Pathway Electives (27 hours)*


The Associate of Arts degree requires a minimum of 27 hours of Pathway Electives. Students should work with their advisor and transfer institution to determine the most appropriate courses to complete within this block. The following are recommended pathway electives for transfer.

Minimum Hours for a Degree 62*


*A minimum of 62 hours is required to earn a Cowley degree; however additional credit hours may be outlined on the transfer pathway to meet the program requirements for a transfer institution. 

Depending on skill level and assessment scores, students may be required to take the necessary basic skill or prerequisite courses prior to enrolling in the program courses.
