BEFORE STARTING THE PROGRAM, the student must have EMT or AEMT certification or be finishing a course that would allow the student to obtain EMT or AEMT certification early in the paramedic program.
The Paramedic Program has a Selective Admissions Process. Students typically start the paramedic technical classes during the second year of school.
NOTE: REGARDING CERT C - To obtain Paramedic certification in Kansas, an individual must possess a minimum of an associate degree.
The Paramedic Certificate C is designed for students who already possess an associate degree or higher and who wish to complete the Paramedic Program. The Certificate C is comprised of completing the Paramedic I - IV courses and is 48 credit hours in length.
The Program Semester Map provides a suggested sequence of courses associated with a particular program of study to meet degree requirements that is outlined with clickable links to electives and course information. The map serves as a reference and planning guide for students and advisors. Since course schedule offerings may vary each semester, students should work with their advisor to outline a specific class schedule each enrollment period after publication of the course schedule.
